READ TO SUCCEED
The Read to Succeed program is designed to promote early literacy and language development by supporting families with young children in establishing home libraries with culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate children’s books and supplementary resources.
Research shows that children often need to see themselves in books to become strong readers. When children see characters that reflect their own identity in the books they read, they feel validated, gaining a strong sense of confidence and pride In themselves, their experiences and their culture. We aggressively see books written by African American authors.
We partner with Discovery Toys for attain reflective toys and First Book Marketplace for quality and inclusive books and reasonable price. Every black child has access to books and toys that Reflect Who They Are and Who they Can Be!

Working with young children requires knowledge of child growth and development, as well as the skills to communicate effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
